The next generation Optima is here. Are you ready for it? That's what we're hoping to find out. Our team here at Fred Beans Kia of Langhorne wrote this 2018 Kia Optima review for our customers in Langhorne, Levittown, Philadelphia, and the surrounding Pennsylvania communities-we wrote this review for you.

We'll go over this sedan's exterior style, interior amenities, state-of-the-art technology, engine power, and safety features. In other words, we'll go over everything you need to know about the 2018 Optima.

Exterior: Optimal Style

The Kia Optima's exterior look was completely updated for 2018, and it all starts with its signature Tiger nose grille. Available LED headlights and LED fog lights round out the front fascia, especially when you pair them with the available Dynamic Bending Light system and the available High Beam Assist function.

Interior: Convenient Amenities

Next, we'll go over a few of the 2018 Optima's in-cabin amenities. Here's what you'll find behind the wheel:

  • Noise Reduction - enhanced cabin-sound insulation
  • Seat Comfort - available heated and ventilated front seats
  • Seat Adjustment - available 12-way power-adjustable driver's seat with four-way power lumbar
  • Heated Steering - available heated steering wheel

Technology: Kia's Sophistication

However, Kia's technology doesn't stop at your convenience and your comfort-it's hellbent on keeping you entertained and informed as well. That's why the 2018 Kia Optima comes with a subscription-free UVO connectivity system, complete with a seven-inch touchscreen display. This UVO feature facilitates amenities, such as Android Auto™, Apple CarPlay™, and Google Local Search™, which will allow you to access your compatible Android smartphone, your compatible Apple iPhone®, and the full capabilities of Google respectively.

Several Different Engine Options for the Optima

1.6L turbocharged engine: 178 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque

2.0L turbocharged engine: 245 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque

2.4L DOHC 16-valve I-4: 185 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque

On the Kia Optima LX trim, you can pair the 1.6L engine with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, which will provide a balance of efficiency and practical power. Or, on the Optima SX trim, you can pair it with one that offers optional steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters for ultimate control and a sportier feel.

Safety: How important is your safety?

We hope that your answer would be that safety is the most important aspect of any vehicle. After all, the road presents plenty of dangers for drivers, passengers, and pedestrians alike. Here's what Kia is doing to help you.

The 2018 Optima is built with 50% advanced high-strength steel that's as light as a feather and as strong as, well, high-strength steel. Plus, it comes with a few different active and responsive safety systems, such as the Traction Control System, Electronic Brake-Force Distribution, Tire Pressure Monitoring, and others.
